As per reports, Lay's is recalling the chip packets in Oregon and Washington due to undeclared milk. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the Class 1 recall on January 27, classifying it as a high-risk situation. The recall affects 6,344 bags of 13-ounce Lay's Classic potato chips sold in retail and online stores.
The recall began on December 13, 2023, after a customer alerted Lay's to the presence of milk, a major allergen not listed on the packaging. Consuming these chips could cause serious health issues or death for those with milk allergies.
The affected bags have a «guaranteed fresh» date of February 11, 2024, and manufacturing codes starting with «6462307» or «6463307.» Consumers in Oregon and Washington are advised to discard these chips immediately.
“No allergic reactions related to this matter have been reported to date. No other Lay's products, flavors, sizes or variety packs are recalled.” Frito Lay stated in a December 16 press release.
