Stay safe and visit… pic.twitter.com/yBngIcirtU— Nova Scotia Power (@nspowerinc) September 16, 2023As of 11 a.m., Nova Scotia Power was reporting more than 123,000 customers without power, and NB Power was reporting over 35,000 customers in the dark.The bulk of the outages in Nova Scotia are in the southwestern parts of the province, including the Yarmouth and Shelburne areas.The storm is expected to make landfall in Yarmouth later in the day but its effects are likely to be felt within a radius of several hundred kilometres, according to Environment Canada.The national forecaster’s latest update puts Lee about 150 kilometres south of Yarmouth, with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometres per hour, and moving north at a speed of 41 kilometres per hour.Wind gusts of 117 kilometres per hour were recorded at the Halifax airport.Meanwhile, flights in and out of Halifax Stanfield International Airport have all been cancelled. The airport authority is advising travellers to contact their airlines to reschedule any flights.Ummmm shore road in Eastern Passage needs to be shut down asap.
