The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress vanquished Congress’ Vikramaditya Singh for the seat. Although Singh had contested two assembly elections, this was his first attempt to secure a seat in the parliament.
Ever since Ranaut made her political debut, there have been rumours of her ditching politics for her film career and questions about her sincerity. The firebrand actress clarified that she is in no hurry to relinquish her seat as an MP or neglect her duties. “As far as my departure to Mumbai is concerned, this (Himachal Pradesh) is my ‘janmabhoomi’ and I will continue to serve people here…So, I am not going anywhere. Perhaps, someone else will have to pack their bags and leave. I am not going anywhere,” she said.
Earlier today, Ranaut dropped some pictures of herself and her mother on X. In the pictures, her mother was seen feeding her curd. Ranaut looked regal in a pink saree. Dropping the pictures, the actress wrote, “Mother is a form of God, today my mother is feeding me curd and sugar.
