Chris Slater would join MA Moelis’ investment banking team as an executive director in November. He would report to ex-Bank of America banker Ben Boyd, who leads MA Moelis’ real estate advisory team.
Slater has 12 years of industry experience, including roles at UBS, JPMorgan and fund manager Kingsmede. He honed in on real estate as his area of expertise early on, and was part of the teams that worked on the biggest deals in the sector including Westfield sale to Unibail-Rodamco, and sale-and-leasebacks for Telstra and Healthscope.
He has also worked across fund-raising for GPT, Mirvac and Cromwell. In his most recent one, he was part of the team that worked on Dexus’s acquisition of AMP Capital’s real estate and infrastructure equity business.
“Chris has significant real estate sector and deal experience, and we look forward to him joining the Advisory team. Transaction activity is increasing, and we have invested in senior capability to ensure we have the experience and capacity to deliver for our clients,” Boyd said of the appointment.
The hire comes after the firm added Paul Hissey to expand into sell-side research for natural resources, and Tom Tweedie for small and mid-cap industrials research.
