Congress' X post pertains to the unprecedented Sebi employee complaint case that unfolded a few hours earlier. In a complaint to the Finance ministry last month, a large number of Sebi officials accused the leadership of «fostering a toxic work culture».
«Shouting, scolding and public humiliation have become a norm in meetings,» the August 6 letter read. This has affected mental health and hurt work-life balance of employees, the letter added.
Various media reports said it was likely the first time that such a thing has happened at Sebi.
The latest newsbreak comes amid a barrage of earlier accusations of impropriety against Sebi chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. These include conflict of interest over Sebi's Adani probe and Opposition's questions over salary drawn by from ICICI Bank.
Buch denied any wrongdoing, and ICICI Bank also did the same. The matters with workers have been resolved, Sebi said.
