Addressing this aspect, Madhavan recently shared his views, stating that during that era, there were limited ways to initiate a conversation with a woman apart from following her persistently.
Responding to the criticism surrounding the film, Madhavan expressed his disagreement during an interview with Mashable India. He argued that the film was being evaluated based on «Western standards,» which he considered unfair. Madhavan stated, “I completely reject this criticism. Concepts like green flags and blue flags are merely trivial concerns of individuals with too much idle time. What truly matters is being a gentleman. Since childhood, we were taught how to engage with women respectfully and how to approach them appropriately. This has always been a fundamental part of our culture. Of course, there have always been individuals who behave inappropriately, but it is unfair to assess our actions using Western benchmarks.”
