Madhya Pradesh: How Modi's BJP won 'India's dil' with these 'Panch Maha Mantras'
Madhya Pradesh. Leading up to the polls, there were widespread expectations of anti-incumbency among voters against the BJP's two-decade rule.
To counter this, the party went all out with lively campaigns, energetic rallies, and some smart moves.
The saffron party flexed its political muscles with a strategy that just hit differently. We're calling it the 'Panch Maha Mantra' – a clever mix of social tactics, perks for women, Modi's charisma, and, the Scindia factor.
Winning over women voters
First in their arsenal was a game-changer ploy for the ladies – the 'Ladli Behna Scheme' which provided Rs 1,250 every month to over one crore women.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan relied heavily on these schemes and he made sure to credit these 'ladli behnas' for paving the way to the BJP's victory. After the announcement of exit polls results giving an edge to BJP in Madhya Pradesh, Chouhan had said, «Kaante ki takkar', 'Kaante ki takkar'...'Laadli behna ne saare kaante nikaal diye (What neck-to-neck fight? The daughters and sisters seem to have set us on the road to victory».
