Varun Gandhi has penned an emotional letter to his constituents in Pilibhit following the denial of a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Reflecting on his deep-rooted connection with the region since childhood, Gandhi reminisced about the fond memories that bind him to the land and its people.
Gandhi's letter, infused with nostalgia, portrays Pilibhit not just as a workplace but as an intrinsic part of his identity. He recalled his first encounter with the region as a three-year-old in 1983, holding his mother's hand, unaware that it would shape his future endeavors. Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of the people of Pilibhit over the years, he emphasized his commitment to serving them, irrespective of his official position.
He stated, «My term as Pilibhit MP may be ending, but my relation with Pilibhit will not end till my last breath. I seek your blessings to continue to raise the voice of the common man, no matter what price I have to pay for it, 'Main aapka tha, hun aur rahunga'.»
Despite his absence on the last day of filing nominations, dispelling speculations of contesting independently, Gandhi's devotion to his constituents remains resolute. While his mother, Maneka Gandhi, secured another chance to contest from Sultanpur, the absence of the mother-son duo from Pilibhit marks a significant departure from the constituency's political landscape.
Varun Gandhi affirmed his dedication to serving the community, affirming, «If not as an MP, then as a son, I am committed to serve you
