BJP leaders in Manipur in a letter to BJP president J P Nadda stated that public anger and protest is now slowly turning the tide, putting the sole onus of this prolonged disturbances solely into the failure of the government in dealing with the situation. The state unit of BJP has sought all possible help and support to release Moirangthem Anand Singh who was arrested by the NIA in connection with the recent crisis in the state.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Moirangthem Anand Singh in a case related to a transnational conspiracy by Myanmar based leadership of terror outfits to wage a war against the Government of India by exploiting the current ethnic unrest in the State of Manipur.
The case was registered suo moto by the NIA at New Delhi.
Five arrested people in Manipur who were arrested last Saturday with sophisticated weapons donning security forces uniform were granted bail by special NIA court.
Soon after the release of five, one person Anand was re-arrested by NIA and taken to New Delhi. According to police he is a former cadre of banned insurgent outfit People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur.
He was arrested for as many as six times in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009. He had joined KCP(Noyon) Group and was arrested in 2010 Lamphel police station and detained under NSA.
The letter signed by state unit President A Sharda Devi and other seven officers stated, “Sir, you are quite aware that the current unrest has almost cross four months from May
3rd, 2023 till today.
