Manipur government has launched Imphal—Ukhrul—Imphal Route, Manipur Helicopter Service.
Biren took part in several programmes on Monday. Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh stated in X, “Pleased to launch the Imphal—Ukhrul—Imphal Route, Manipur Heli Service in the presence of Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers, MLAs and other officials at my secretariat office today. The air route connectivity between Imphal and Ukhrul will serve as a convenient means of travel & transportation while boosting commercial activities between the two districts, and it will further help in strengthening developmental work in various sectors”.
Biren said that the Manipur heli-service is operating on various routes already including along Imphal – Churachandpur, Imphal to Aizwal via Churachandpur, Imphal to Lairouching, Imphal to Dimapur via Lairouching, Imphal-Moreh among others.
Since its launch in 2018, the Heli-service has flown 31,163 passengers. The government is trying to cover major areas in the Hill districts and not only the district headquarters by the Manipur Heli-Service.
The Chief Minister also urged people collecting donations along the road to stop immediately so as to not cause disturbances to others.
He said that delighted to open District Transport Offices of Jiribam, Kakching, Noney, Pherzawl, and Kamjong. Fulfilling the wishes of the public, these DTOs will allow drivers and vehicle owners, etc to update their necessary documents and other required information in their own districts.
