Marico's consolidated net profit rose 15% to Rs 427 crore on Friday for the April-June period, compared with Rs 371 crore in the same period last year. The profit was higher than ET Now poll estimate of Rs 409 crore.
Revenue from operations, however, fell 3% to Rs 2,477 crore for the first quarter under review. The same stood at Rs 2,558 crore in the previous year quarter.
EBITDA rose 9% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 574 crore in the June quarter, while margins jumped 253 basis points to 23.2%. During the quarter, the company said that the FMCG sector retained its positive sentiment from the preceding quarter, although clear green shoots in rural on a sequential basis, as anticipated, were not visible.MORE TO COME...
