Mark Ruffalo, who is popularly known for his characters as Bruce Banner and the Hulk, has slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for declaring Palestinians are «collateral damage» during the Israel-Palestine war. It's been over a month that Israel and Palestine have been in a state of war.
The war which began on October 07, 2023, has claimed thousands of lives in Israel and Palestine. Recently, during NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, Israeli Netanyahu justified himself by saying that their army is only targeting terrorists and the civilians losing their lives is just 'collateral damage.'
Speaking at the NBC Meet, Netanyahu said «Our deliberate efforts are directed towards targeting the terrorists directly.
Nevertheless, in any justified conflict, civilians may, unfortunately, be categorized as 'collateral damage,' a more extensive term indicating unintended casualties.»
In response to Netanyahu's statement, Mark Ruffalo took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and slammed the Prime Minister by saying the people including children who were mercilessly killed by Israeli rockets were not 'collateral damage.' The actor further added that people who lost their lives were also human beings, who happen to have been born there and live there, and most of those human beings are stuck there.
Further elaborating on his statement, the actor underscored the importance of the Prime Minister demonstrating compassion for those who have lost their lives.
The actor said people who died in the war are Palestinians not buildings or roads or things, but human beings. Further, the actor did not forget to mention those Israelis who are held captive by saying that even those people are human whose lives the PM
