The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has deployed Fireforce and NDRF teams, with another NDRF team on the way to Wayanad.
Two teams from the Kannur Defence Security Corps have also been directed to assist in the rescue efforts.

Locals fear many individuals are trapped.

Kerala Chief Minister has announced that all government agencies are actively participating in the rescue operations following recent landslides in Wayanad.
The Health Department and National Health Mission have opened a control room and issued emergency helpline numbers: 9656938689 and 8086010833.
To assist with rescue efforts, two Air Force helicopters, including an Mi-17 and an ALH, are scheduled to depart from Sulur at 7:30 a.m. to support and coordinate the rescue operations.
