style disruptors who added flair to The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence 2023. Here, style transcended fashion, with attendees showcasing their sartorial choices through haute couture, bold colours and attention to detail.
When it came to detailing though, there was one creation that stood out – the dress worn by Chanel’s CEO Leena Nair, a true labour of love.
The dress has been made by the Flou Atelier, run by Olivia Douchez on Rue Cambon in Paris. As Nair pointed out, it took “250 hours of manmade love and craftsmanship to make”. The Global Indian of the Year award winner stunned in the high-collared dress from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2022/23 collection. The delicate gown was encrusted with floral motifs, with picot lace at the bottom, interfaced in double white silk tulle, and left unlined to keep the transparency.

The delicate row of 14 multicoloured jewelled buttons down the back, with a little bow at the neck, added the finishing details to Nair’s evening look, which she paired with a smart cropped jacket.
Ajay Piramal, chairman of the Piramal Group, also wore a valuable fabric, in the form of a pale green $400 Bulgari tie — which was gifted to him.
