Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday accused the administration here of hiding something as she wasn't allowed to meet families of three civilians killed allegedly in army custody in Topa Pir village of Surankote in Poonch district of Pir Panchal region of Jammu.
Mufti had reached Bafliaz region of Poonch in Jammu on Saturday along with few of her party members. However, the local police stopped her a few kms ahead of Topa Pir village and didn’t allow her contingent to move further. They put a concertina wire on the road and female police personnel tried to remove Mufti from the road, where she protested against the administration decision.
“These people don't want us to meet the families and balm their wounds…it seems they want to hide something which has happened there.
They are not allowing us as if they have done something more heinous and want to hide that,” Mufti told reporters. She took a dig at the administration and BJP led government saying that the normalcy in J&K such that she wasn’t allowed to go for a condolence meeting.
“I have heard that they have misbehaved with women and girls who had gone to (army camp) begging for the lives of their detained family members.
They were warned that they will be stripped naked like their male family members,” said Mufti.
