All About ‘Meiyazhagan’
Directed by C Prem Kumar, Meiyazhagan features Karthi, known for his role in Ponniyin Selvan, alongside seasoned Kollywood actors including Arvind Swamy, Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, and Saran Shakthi. The film is produced by the Tamil star couple Jyothika and Suriya through their production company, 2D Entertainment.
Originally announced in February 2023 under the working title Karthi 27, the project marks Karthi’s 27th film as the lead actor, with the official title unveiled in May. Filming began in November 2023, primarily in Chennai and Kodambakkam, and wrapped up in late February 2024. The film's score is composed by Govind Vasantha, with cinematography managed by Mahendiran Jayaraju and editing by R. Govindraj.
