Chris Whitfield is trying to break down the stigma of men talking about miscarriage. In March 2021, he launched Miscarriage For Men, a peer-to-peer network, which aims to create a safe space in which men can be open about their experiences with pregnancy loss.
The project was initially a way to cope with his own grief. In February of that year, he and his wife, Jade, suffered a miscarriage when she was 14 weeks pregnant.
