The new CUV from MG has been undergoing testing in India with frequent spy shots providing glimpses of the model. The released teaser video highlights its dynamic alloy wheel design, sleek LED DRLs, an end-to-end LED light bar, and an illuminated MG logo. Additional features hinted at include a sunroof and a two-spoke steering wheel.
The model is expected to feature a 50.3 kWh battery pack similar to that of the ZS EV. This would be paired with a front axle-mounted motor generating 176 hp and 280 Nm of torque. Due to its lighter weight, the Cloud EV might offer a better range than the ZS EV's claimed 461 km. There’s also a possibility of introducing a global-spec variant with 134 hp, 200 Nm, and a 37.9 kWh battery, offering up to 360 km range as a low-cost option.
Dubbed an «Intelligent CUV,» the Cloud EV aims to appeal to young buyers with its tall stance, coupe-like roof, and large wheels. It's expected to be competitively priced under Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom, which positions it between the Comet and ZS EV.
