There are two halves of a key that are needed to either control the AI or destroy it. Ethan’s crew is racing against the mysterious Gabriel (Esai Morales), who is The Entity’s closest aide in the real world. In the fight on the Orient Express, Gabriel ends up with the key and escapes. But it is Ethan who has the actual key and not Gabriel. A surprise rescuer for Ethan is Gabriel’s henchwoman Paris (Pom Klementieff). She informs Ethan that the key in question will help get The Entity’s source code, which is on a Russian submarine in the Bering Sea.
