The inflows into the equity mutual funds increased 3% in August to Rs 38,239 crore from Rs 37,113 crore in July. The inflows in sectoral/thematic funds declined by 1% and stood at Rs 18,117 crore. All categories except for ELSS and focused funds have continued to receive inflows in August. ELSS funds and focused funds have continued to witness outflows for the fifth straight month.
Debt mutual funds saw an inflow of Rs 45,169 crore in August, registering a decline of 62% on a month-on-month basis against an inflow of Rs 1.19 lakh crore in July. The maximum inflow was recorded in overnight funds. The liquid funds saw an inflow of Rs 15,105 crore in August against an outflow of Rs 4,451 crore in July.

The total inflows into hybrid fund categories went down by 43% and stood at Rs 10,005 crore in August against an inflow of Rs 17,436 crore in July. All hybrid categories except for conservative hybrid funds received inflows in August.
The net inflows in the ‘others’ category, which includes Index Funds and ETFs, declined marginally by 1% and stood at Rs 14,599 crore in August against Rs 14,777 crore in July.
