Europa Clipper probe aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy Rocket from Cape Canaveral situated in Florida. According to Los Angeles Times, the Europa Clipper mission aims to explore Europa, the icy moon of Jupiter in search for signs of existing alien life.
Los Angeles Times reported that the spacecraft will be embarking on a journey of 1.8 billion mile which will take near about 5 and half years to be completed and the arrival is expected in the year of 2030. Europa Clipper will be utilizing gravity assists primarily by swinging around Mars starting from early next year.
Europa clipper will be returning to Earth around late 2026 before its final destination to Jupiter. The spacecraft after reaching its destination will be conducting scientific investigations for over four years which will include multiple flybys of Europa for studying the subsurface ocean and in search for organic compounds, Los Angeles Times reported.

NASA scientists believe that Europa has a global ocean beneath its icy surface which is heated by the gravitational forces from Jupiter and thus this $5 billion mission is really significant. Los Angeles Times asserted that the Europa Clipper is the largest planetary probe NASA has ever built till date.
