Nate Diaz, the former UFC star, has been extended an open invitation to face Jake Paul in the PFL SmartCage. PFL founder Donn Davis remains optimistic about the possibility of this matchup, even though it might not materialize in the near future.
Davis recently shared insights on The MMA Hour regarding the future plans of PFL, including the potential showdown between Diaz and «The Problem Child» Paul.
Speaking about Diaz and his independent nature, Davis mentioned, «One thing about Nate or fighters or entrepreneurs, they’re their own men. They do what they want to do.
Nate will do it when he wants to do it.» Emphasizing PFL's openness to the fight, Davis metaphorically compared it to the hospitality of Motel 6, stating, «We'll leave the light on.»
The discussion around a potential MMA bout between Diaz and Paul has been ongoing, with Paul throwing down the gauntlet during the lead-up to their boxing match on August 5, which Paul won by unanimous decision. Despite a lucrative offer from Paul's camp, Diaz hasn't committed, yet exchanges between the two via social media have persisted.
Davis, who previously aligned himself with Paul in an interview on The MMA Hour, found himself at odds with Diaz, who expressed dissatisfaction with Davis and the league via Twitter.
