A statement from MCC said, “..as per decision taken by MoHFW [Ministry of Health and Family Welfare] in consultation with NMC, the percentile for NEET PG counselling 2024 has been lowered.”
With this, the general and EWS category students scoring 15 percentile and above will be eligible to participate in the counselling. For SC, ST, OBC and PwD category students, the new and revised cut-off required to become eligible for NEET PG counselling is 10 percentile and above.
Last year, the NEET PG qualifying percentile was brought down to zero across all categories. The NEET PG cut-off for general category candidates was reduced from the 50th percentile to 35th in 2022. Further, the cut-off for unreserved PwD candidates was brought down from 45th percentile to 20th percentile. For students belonging under SC, ST and OBC (including PwD of SC, ST, OBC), the cut-off was reduced to 20th percentile from 40th.
