Virat Kohli has taken to social media to share a heartwarming tribute to former teammate Rahul Dravid ahead of the Dominica Test against West Indies. The two men are set to return to Windsor Park after a remarkable 12 years since they last played there together in 2011. In a nostalgic post, Kohli fondly recalls the last time India played a Test match against West Indies in Roseau, Dominica, remarking on the unique journey that has brought them back to the same venue, albeit in different roles.
The only other player from that lineup who currently accompanies Kohli in the Indian squad is Rahul Dravid, India’s head coach at present. "The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities.
Highly grateful," wrote Kohli. Dominica is preparing to host a Test match for the first time in six years, with India’s last encounter taking place in 2011. Despite a shaky start, the visitors managed to take a 1-0 lead in the series under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
However, the West Indies' Shivanarine Chanderpaul's impressive century provided some tense moments for the Indian team. Back then, the combined efforts of players like Murali Vijay, Harbhajan Singh and Dravid secured a draw, ultimately leading to India clinching the series with a 1-0 victory. Kohli, who was just beginning his career at the time, contributed a solid 30 runs in the first innings.
