New Covid variant, XEC, spreading rapidly across the world. Know symptoms, precautions
The XEC strain is said to be a hybrid of the KS. 1.1 and KP.3.3 variants. It was initially detected in Germany in June but has since been found in 15 countries spanning three continents.
Quoting experts in the United States, the Mirror said that the Covid XEC will become the dominant variant.
«XEC is just getting started now around the world,» Eric Topol, director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in California, told the Mirror.
