Twitter’ to ‘X’ but the underlying rules remains the same. You can’t last long on the microblogging platform if you are disfavoured by ‘Chief Twit’ Elon Musk! An NYU professor just learned this the hard way. Scott Galloway, a marketing professor and public speaker found himself locked out of X after a spat with the billionaire. Taking to Threads the professor revealed the whole saga. A mutual acquaintance had reportedly reached out to him and claimed that the entrepreneur felt “unfairly attacked” by him and wanted a meeting. Galloway denied. The next day he found himself unable to log in to Twitter. He remained banned for over 17 days. “A mutual friend reached out and said Elon feels “unfairly attacked,” by me, and wants to meet. I declined. 2 days later I was locked out of “X,” reads the post. In an interview with the Insider, Galloway revealed he had tried to log back in, but all his efforts went in vain. “Filled out the form on the site, but no word back,” he told the news portal.
Where It All BeganA post shared by the professor on July 27 seems to be at the heart of the contention. In that tweet, Galloway had called out the Tesla management that the automobile giant had lied about the driving range of their cars and suppressed complaints. “Tesla intentionally gave drivers rosy driving range projections, leaving many stranded. BUT you should totally bank with X,” reads the post. On Threads, poised to be X’s rival microblogging app, the professor has been criticising the billionaire left, right, and centre. “Elon would have been a legend … if he hadn't started tweeting.” Galloway’s posts on X currently don’t show up on the search bar on the microblogging platform.
