Yankees have officially changed their decades-old rule, which previously required players to maintain short hair and remain clean-shaven, apart from a moustache.

This decision follows a recent photo of Devin Williams showing slight hair growth on his chin. The Yankees have nowee decided to allow “well-groomed beards” within their organisation. Williams, a relief pitcher recently acquired by the team, previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Yankees’ beard ban had been in place for 49 years, first imposed by former owner George Steinbrenner.
Under the previous policy, players were permitted to have a moustache, which is why Williams was seen sporting one during spring training. However, any facial hair below the upper lip remained strictly prohibited until February 21.
