Among the key categories were Left Wing Extremism (LWE) with 28 cases and North East insurgency with 18 cases. In addition, seven Jammu and Kashmir Jihadi cases, six explosive substances, and five human trafficking cases were registered.
Throughout the year, the agency remained focused on dismantling terrorist, gangster, and insurgent networks. NIA's successful counter-terrorism operations included the arrest of 14 individuals linked to Khalistani terrorism, 13 individuals in gangster-related cases, and the arrest of 11 ISIS operatives.
One of the key highlights was the arrest of five individuals linked to the ULFA(I) terrorist group in Assam. This was in response to the terror group's Independence Day boycott call, which led to widespread panic after IEDs were planted across the state.
