Noida Police uncovered a fake call centre operating in Sector 63, arresting 32 individuals, including 17 women, on Saturday. The suspects, posing as representatives of 'Country Holiday Travel India Limited,' allegedly lured victims with attractive holiday packages and defrauded them out of lakhs of rupees.
During the raid, law enforcement confiscated four laptops, three monitors, three keyboards, three CPUs, four chargers, two routers, three switches, three iPads, a mobile phone, and documents related to the fraudulent activities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Noida, Shakti Mohan Awasthi, explained that the gang had been active for two years, targeting unsuspecting individuals across India. They offered enticing vacation packages, such as nine-day luxury trips priced upwards of ₹2.5 lakh. However, after receiving payments, they either delayed responses indefinitely or vanished entirely.
“The suspects made offers too good to refuse. Victims, thinking they were securing a luxurious holiday, were left cheated and without recourse,” said DCP Awasthi.
The operation came under scrutiny after Anita, a resident of Amrapali Eden Park apartment in Noida, filed a formal complaint. She alleged she had paid ₹84,000 for a nine-day package at an ITC hotel, but the booking never materialised, and no refund was issued. Anita’s complaint led the police to uncover five additional online grievances and one written complaint.
