Nora Fatehi, issued her statement, regarding a defamation case she filed against ‘Murder 2’ actress Jacqueline Fernandez in 2022. In her statement, the ‘Bhuj: Pride Of India’ actress clarified that she was not complicit in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case masterminded by conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
Chandrasekhar, who is currently incarcerated at a jail in Mandoli, Delhi, was earlier linked to both Fernandez and Fatehi. Fatehi and TV actress Chahatt Khanna are currently being probed by the Delhi Police.
Revealing that she was termed a gold digger and her reputation and job opportunity suffered a lot from being linked to the conman, the ‘Garmi’ dancer said in the statement, “They accused me of having a relationship with the con artist and included my name in an ongoing criminal case to divert attention away from them.” The starlet went on to state that she was made a “scapegoat” by the media to protect some individual’s reputation, as she is an outsider and alone in India. She also demanded compensation for all the damage done to her career, which she had meticulously built over the past eight years.
In December 2022, Fatehi filed a defamation case against Fernandez for «unfairly dragging» her name into the Rs 200 crore extortion case. She also accused no less than 15 media organisations for trying to ruin her reputation and standing in the industry.
She claimed she had a «a pristine reputation apart from a rapidly progressing career which has quite obviously threatened her rivals who are unable to compete with her on fair footing».
