North East Delhi, is set to witness another eventful Lok Sabha election as it goes in to the big polls on May 25. One of the reasons it has successfully become an important seat is because of the main contenders, two prominent Biharis: BJP's Manoj Tiwari and Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar.
North East Delhi constituency comprises 10 segments including Burari, Timarpur, Seemapuri (SC), Rohtas Nagar, Seelampur, Ghonda, Babarpur, Gokalpur (SC), Mustafabad and Karawal Nagar.
It is to be noted that of the 10, only three are held by BJP (Rohtas Nagar, Ghonda, Karawal Nagar) and remaining seven have AAP MLAs.

Tiwari, a prominent Bhojpuri actor-singer, is the only sitting MP retained by the saffron party. He won from the Northeast Delhi constituency, which has has the maximum concentration of Muslim voters in Delhi at 20.7%, in 2014 as well as 2019.
His vote share in 2014 was 45% which grew in 2019 to 54%.
