Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the citizens of this ‘hermit kingdom’ are in for a real shock. The state has introduced two new draconian laws which affect the citizen’s rights. The two new laws aim to curb South Korean influence in the north and another law is aimed at banning divorce.
The first law is to prevent ‘immoral and evil’ South Korean influence in the North. This law will empower checking squads, across the country to check the mobile phones of citizens. The checking will aim at preventing the citizens from falling prey to ‘propaganda’ from the ‘puppets’. North Korea accuses South Korea of being a puppet in the hands of the West.

The North’s human rights record is pathetic and often citizens are killed even as they struggle to eke out two square meals a day. Many citizens have criticized this law and have questioned its objectives.
