Biden presented 19 individuals, including Hillary Clinton and Bill Nye, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian award, during the ceremony on Saturday. But instead of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Cheney was given the Presidential Citizens Medal, which the podcast hosts seemed especially pleased about.

During the episode, co-host Jon Favreau stated that she bet Liz Cheney could use a pardon more than the medal! After Liz Cheney didn't get the Medal of Freedom, she got the one just below it, which pissed off some resistance folks on Twitter, as quoted in a report by The Daily Beast.
Co-host Jon Lovett was prompted to enquire, «What's the silver in this? What are we doing? After discussing all of the medals Obama had given out while in office, Favreau remarked, „Obama gave one to Biden, and Biden did not return the favour.“
