OceanGate Titan submersible, which captured global attention, is set to be adapted into a feature film titled 'Salvaged.' This cinematic venture is being produced by E. Brian Dobbins, known for his recent work on the summer comedy horror 'The Blackening.'
Collaborating with MindRiot Entertainment, a company concurrently developing a docuseries on Kyle Bingham, the former mission director of OceanGate, the film promises to delve into the gripping narrative of the Titan submersible incident.
In June 2023, the Titan submersible became the center of international focus when it vanished during a deep-sea expedition near the Titanic wreckage in the Atlantic Ocean. This ill-fated vessel lost contact with its mother ship a mere 1 hour and 45 minutes into the dive.
With the crew facing diminishing oxygen supplies in the high-pressure depths, their fate was cast in uncertainty. Four days following the sub's disappearance, a remotely operated underwater vehicle discovered debris near the Titanic wreck, strongly suggesting that the Titan submersible had succumbed to the immense pressure and imploded.
The tragedy claimed the lives of all five crew members on board, including British businessman Hamish Harding, British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old son Suleman, former French Navy diver Paul-Henry Nargeolet, and OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush.
'Salvaged' marks the first feature film to explore the Titan submersible tragedy. While Channel 5 broadcasted a documentary titled «Titanic Sub: Lost at Sea» shortly after the incident, MindRiot Entertainment initiated its docuseries, «Salvaged,» focusing on Kyle Bingham,
