The OnePlus 12 is officially arriving in China on December 5 (not December 4, as previously reported) and as expected, OnePlus has kicked off teaser campaigns to hype its next flagship phone. The pre-orders have started even before launch. But unlike say, Samsung, OnePlus has revealed to would-be customers what the OnePlus 12 will look like. The TL;DR version is- it will look stunning.
The design of the OnePlus 12 is an evolution and continuity of “the well-accepted” OnePlus 11, OnePlus says in a press release sent out to the media today. There will be some changes, but those would be “purposeful” refinements, the company adds.
The most prominent change is that OnePlus has moved the alert slider on the phone from right to the left side. (At least it’s still there.) The reasoning takes us back to the OnePlus 10T days. Once again, OnePlus is reiterating that finding place for the alert slider is easier said than done. By relocating it to the left side, OnePlus is apparently able to improve the gaming antenna signal by 3dB and reduce the game latency by 15 percent. But we’ll see.
Elsewhere, the OnePlus 12 was already confirmed to come in three shades: white, black and green. The renders shared ahead of launch finally put a face to what it would all look like. The black version is matte, the white is glossy, while the green -possibly the hero colour- seems to have a 3D depth effect. OnePlus calls the new design, flowy emerald.
Spec-wise, the OnePlus 12 is set to come with Qualcomm’s brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 2K LTPO OLED display sourced from BOE.
