Oppenheimer is going to arrive on Peacock on February 16, 2024, accurately in the midst of the Oscar season. On January 23, the Oscar nominations are coming out.
The movie directed by Christopher Nolan has recently won five Golden Globe awards including that for the Best Feature Drama, and Best Director categories with Cillian Murphy winning the award for Best Actor Drama, Robert Downey Jr winning the Best Supporting Actor award, and composer Ludwig Göransson winning the award for the Best Original Score.
Oppenheimer gathered a box office collection of $952 million, becoming the third highest-grossing movie in 2023. That amount of revenue is a new phenomenon for a drama spanning three hours, particularly surrounding a physicist. At the domestic box office, Oppenheimer has amassed $326M becoming the fifth highest-grossing film of the year 2023.
On digital and on DVD, Oppenheimer came out on November 21. Its journey from the screen to Peacock was over six months.
Oppenheimer has been nominated for up to 13 Critics Choice Awards this weekend, which include that for Best Director, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Score, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Production Design, Hair and Makeup, VFX, Editing, Best Supporting Actress (Emily Blunt).
