Optimum Nutrition, a brand owned by global sports nutrition company Glanbia Performance Nutrition, has signed India's javelin star Neeraj Chopra as its brand ambassador. The endorsement deal is for a period of one year, with the option to extend it further.
The new signing adds to Chopra's brand endorsement portfolio, which comprises over 20 brands, including Tata AIA Life Insurance, Gillette, and Country Delight, among others.
Chopra, who is managed by JSW Sports, charges Rs 4 crore as an annual endorsement fee.
According to Kroll's Celebrity Brand Valuation Report, Chopra's brand value stood at $26.5 million.
As part of the association, Optimum Nutrition will be Neeraj’s official sports nutrition partner as he gears up to set new records in the Olympic Games 2024.
Satyavrat Pendharkar, CMD, Glanbia Performance Nutrition India, said there is a perfect fit between the brand values of Neeraj and Optimum Nutrition. «Through Neeraj, we want to achieve our broader vision to inspire people to achieve their own performance and fitness goals.»
He added that Neeraj will help the brand build credibility among consumers and also reach out to a wider audience across the country.
«Chopra will help us build emotional connections with fans since he is using our products,» Pendharkar added.
In a statement, Chopra stated, «I am delighted to join forces with Optimum Nutrition, a brand that shares my passion for excellence and community welfare. With Optimum Nutrition, I am confident that I have a strong partner that will allow me to push myself further and bring laurels to the nation.”
Apart from Chopra, the brand has also signed cricketer Rishabh Pant and wrestler Bajrang Punia as its brand ambassadors.
