abortion medication in greater than usual numbers.
One of the biggest providers of abortion pills, Aid Access, said it received 10,000 requests for the drug in the 24 hours following the Republican nominee's election call early Wednesday. That's about 17 times the 600 requests the organization normally receives in a day, as quoted in a report by The Washington Post.
According to Just the Pill, a nonprofit that uses telemedicine to prescribe abortion drugs, 22 out of 125 orders it received between Wednesday and Friday came from non-pregnant individuals. Julie Amaon, the group's interim executive director, stated that soliciting such an advance provision is typically rare.
