Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday slammed the newly-minted central government, accusing the NDA 3.0 regime of “neglecting” backward classes and Dalit communities while picking MPs from the state for the union council of ministers.

“It looks like they [BJP/NDA] don't want backward classes and Dalit communities. There are several people from such communities who have got elected in the state from that party…They could have considered them, but it is left to their discretion. But it is evident that these communities have been neglected,” the minister told the media.
The NDA won 19 out of 28 seats in Karnataka in the Lok Sabha polls. Five MPs from the state were sworn in the new government on Sunday. Former Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman (from the rajya Sabha), former Union Parliamentary affairs ministers Pralhad Joshi, and former chief minister from JDS HD Kumaraswamy were inducted into the cabinet, whereas former Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje was inducted again as an MoS, along with first-time MP V Somanna.
Out of these, Joshi and Sitharaman hail from the brahmin community, while Kumaraswamy and Karandlaje belong to the influential Vokkaliga community. Somanna belongs to the Lingayat community.
