Artistic gymnastics' history at the Olympics
The artistic gymnastics event has a rich history at the Olympics, being a part since the 1896 modern Olympics, and has stayed an integral sporting event thereafter. It has undergone a few modifications, however, to make the event look more appealing, including doing away with rope climbing as an artistic gymnastics event.
The event's scoring is majorly on different parameters, including the concepts of difficulty and execution. The athletes who come through in both, are awarded the most points, and are ahead in the scoring sheet, which is then cumulated, and then the final standings for the medal winners is assessed.
