Patiala Lok Sabha 2024 Elections: Date, schedule, party-wise candidates and other details
Phase 7 of the Lok Sabha elections on June 1. The constituency includes eight Vidhan Sabha constituencies: Patiala Rural, Patiala, Rajpura, Samana, Ghanaur, Nabha, Sanour, and Shutrana.
Being a General category seat, the Patiala constituency seat encompasses the entire Patiala district and part of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. The constituency has a literacy rate of 67.63%.
Polling for 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab and the lone Chandigarh seat will be held on Saturday, with INDIA bloc allies Congress and AAP contesting separately and the SAD and BJP also deciding to test the poll waters alone. Prominent candidates in the fray are four-time MP Preneet Kaur, former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, three-time MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Ravneet Singh Bittu.
