Brad Furman’s indie drama People Not Places has added seven actors to its cast. The script, written by Furman’s mother, Ellen Brown Furman, continues to gain attention with these new additions, a Deadline report said.
New Cast Members Brad Furman has rounded out the cast for People Not Places. The seven new actors joining the project are Mercedes Ruehl, Yul Vazquez, Laurence Mason, Obba Babatundé, Joey Bicicchi, Colleen Camp, and Olivia Jude.
Existing Cast and Plot
Previously announced cast members include Shirley MacLaine, Stephen Dorff, Julia Mayorga, and Allegra Leguizamo. The film follows Clare, an elderly widow in Atlantic City, played by MacLaine. She meets an erratic homeless man, played by Dorff, who sleeps in cars. Their shared loneliness brings them together, allowing them to confront his past and her future.
Production People Not Places is being produced by Furman and Jess Fuerst under their Road Less Traveled Productions banner. Additional producers are Jim Seibel and Kyle David Crosby.
Mercedes Ruehl's Career Mercedes Ruehl is known for her Oscar-winning role in The Fisher King. She has also appeared in films like Hustlers, Last Action Hero, and Big. On television, Ruehl has been seen in series, such as New Amsterdam, Bull, and Power.
Obba Babatundé's Roles
Obba Babatundé stars in CBS’s S.W.A.T… He has also appeared in series like Dear White People and I’m Dying Up Here. His film credits include City of Lies, The Manchurian Candidate, The Notebook, That Thing You Do!, and Philadelphia.
