These products were bottled and distributed by Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC, based in Milwaukee, and sold in retail stores across Illinois and Wisconsin.
Coca-Cola's Response
A spokesperson for Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling addressed the recall in a statement, «Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling is voluntarily recalling 864 cases of 12-pack Coca-Cola Classic in 12-oz cans in Illinois and Wisconsin. The cases are being withdrawn because they did not meet our high-quality standards. We are taking this voluntary action because nothing is more important to us than providing high-quality products to the people who drink our beverages.»
The Coca-Cola Company has not yet issued a separate statement regarding the recall.
What Should Consumers Do?
If you have purchased a Coca-Cola 12-pack with the listed UPCs in Illinois or Wisconsin, do not consume it. Customers can return the affected products to the store for a refund or contact Coca-Cola's customer service for further assistance.
