He cited the income tax reliefs that will benefit many in this regard.
«In this budget, income up to ₹12 lakh has been exempted from taxation — tax has been reduced in all income groups,» the Prime Minister said. «A huge benefit will accrue to our middle class and the salaried employees who have a fixed income. This tax exemption will create substantial prospects for the newly employed.»
The Prime Minister said the day marked an important stage in India's growth journey. «This budget is about the aspirations of 140 crore Indians,» he said. «This budget is one that will fulfil the dreams of every Indian. We have opened up several sectors for the youth. The common citizen is going to drive the Viksit Bharat mission. This budget is a force multiplier.»
