council of ministers have brainstormed on vision document for Viksit Bharat 2047 and detailed action plan for the next 5 years, said government sources on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In what may be the last such meeting before the big polls, several ministries articulated their ideas in the meeting.
Meanwhile, after formation of the new government in May 2024 and for quick implementation of the said plan, a 100-day agenda for immediate steps has also been worked upon, they said.
A result of more than 2 years of intensive preparation, the roadmap for Viksit Bharat involved a 'Whole of Government' approach. According to the sources, the process also involved all ministries and wide-ranging consultations with State Governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, scientific organisations and mobilization of youth for seeking their ideas, suggestions and inputs.
While more than 2,700 meetings, workshops and seminars were held at various levels and suggestions of more than 20 lakh youth were received.
The roadmap for the 'developed India 2047' or as the government calls it, Viksit Bharat has a comprehensive blueprint with clearly articulated national vision, aspirations, action points and goals which pertain to areas like economic growth, SDGs, ease of living, ease of doing business, infrastructure, social welfare, etc.
NITI Aayog was given the responsibility of combining the 10 sectoral visions into a unified vision for Viksit Bharat @2047.
The goal is to transform India
