Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the contribution of women in various fields, especially in space technology in recent years. In his monthly 'Mann ki Baat' address to the nation, he said he will hand over his social media site X and Instagram handles to extraordinary women for a day on March 8, the International Women's Day, as a mark of respect for their work in the progress of the country.

Modi applauded the achievements in the field of space technology in India, making a special reference to the launch of 100th rocket into space by ISRO last month. «This is not just a number; it also reflects our resolve to touch new heights in space science every day.» He mentioned the manufacture of launch vehicles, the success of Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, Aditya L-1 missions, and the unprecedented mission of sending 104 satellites into space at one go with a single rocket. Over the last 10 years alone, around 460 satellites have been launched and this includes many satellites of other countries as well.
