PowerGrid are likely to remain in focus on Friday as the company announced that it has emerged as a successful bidder under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for 2 projects.
These projects pertain to establishing Inter-State Transmission System under Build, Own Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The first project involves a transmission system under ISTS for evacuation of power from Kudankulam Unit-3 & Unit-4 (2x1000MW). This system will comprise a 400kV Transmission line between KNPP 3 and 4—Tuticorin-II traversing in the state of Tamil Nadu, along with the terminal equipment at Tuticorin-II S/s.
The second project involves system strengthening at Koppal-II and Gadag-II for integration of RE Generation Projects. The project comprises of 400kV Transmission line between Koppal-II – Gadag-II traversing in the state of Karnataka, and augmentation of transformation capacity of under construction substations of POWERGRID at Koppal-II and Gadag-II.
PowerGrid further involved that the Letters of Intent (LoI) for both the projects were received by the company on 12th December, 2024.
