Premier League, England's top club football competition, is scouting for media rights partners for the Indian market, as its existing three-year deal with Star India is set to conclude with the 2024-25 season and the broadcaster has not shown any inclination to renew the contract, three people aware of the matter said.

Star India, which owns and operates the Star Sports network and Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform, has been the Premier League's partner in the country for over two decades.
Due to the non-renewal of the deal, the Premier League has reached out to other players in the market, including Sony Pictures Networks India, Warner Bros Discovery's Eurosport and Dream Sports-owned FanCode, asking them to submit their price offers, one of the people said, requesting anonymity.
Star India had previously secured the rights through renewals, according to a sports business expert. While the Premier League has initiated the process to sell media rights, sources indicated that both Star and Sony are currently focused on securing the Asian Cricket Council media rights.
Star, Viacom18, Sony and the Premier League declined to comment. Reliance Industries' Viacom18 and Walt Disney-owned Star India are in the process of merging their operations.
