Vodafone Idea topped the list of India Inc's largest loss-making company in Q2 with a loss of Rs 7,176 crore.
NBFC Sammaan Capital, which was earlier known as Indiabulls Housing Finance, reported the second largest loss pile of Rs 2,761 crore. PSU fuel retailer Indian Oil's Q2 loss was also more than Rs 1,100 crore.
Other worst performers include Interglobe Aviation, which runs IndiGo airline, MTNL, Unitech, Mangalore Refinery, Chennai Petroleum, NMDC Steel and the newly-listed Ola Electric.
With the profit pool of India Inc shrinking in the quarter, Motilal Oswal downgraded the earnings of 121 companies by more than 3%. Top downgrades include BPCL, IndusInd Bank, Ultratech Cement, Asian Paints and Trent amid consumption slowdown and weak government spending in the first two quarters of FY25.
