Indian Railways has announced the operation of numerous special trains. The move aims to accommodate the rush during Diwali, Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, and Chhath Puja.
The Southern Railway has introduced two special trains to manage the anticipated surge in passenger numbers during the Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath festivals. These trains will operate weekly from September through November.
1. Dr. MGR Chennai Central — Santragachi Special Train
Train No. 06089 will depart from Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 1:30 PM on specific Wednesdays throughout September, October, and November. It will reach Santragachi at 8:50 PM the following day.
Train No. 06090 will return from Santragachi at 11:40 PM on Thursdays and arrive back at Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 9:00 AM three days later.
2. Tambaram — Santragachi Special Train
Train No. 06095 will leave Tambaram at 1:00 PM on Thursdays and reach Santragachi the next evening.
Train No. 06096 will depart from Santragachi at 11:50 PM on Fridays and arrive in Tambaram at 9:45 AM three days later.
Ganesh Festival Special Trains
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that 342 special trains will run for the Ganesh festival. These services are scheduled to begin on September 7.
